Leland Blue Stone is a unique, man-made slag glass, a byproduct of the iron smelting industry from the late 19th century. It is primarily found along the shores of Leland, Michigan, where it was discarded as industrial waste during the smelting process and later tumbled smooth by the Great Lakes. This material comes in shades of blue, green, purple, and gray, with a smooth, sometimes pitted texture, making it highly sought after for jewelry and decorative items.
